Letters to Chernobyl

Letters to Chernobyl was the first exhibition at Neonstudio 3. In paintings, prints and drawings, Mehrdad Khataei turns to catastrophe and, above all, to the human capacity to endure it.

Large red faces marked with white appear among animals, household objects and figures in uniforms and gas masks. Layered like palimpsests, the works combine drawing, painting and several print techniques, with technique used not as tradition but as a way to carry an idea.
