Clara Mayr
Ceramic · b. 1993, Bolzano, Italy
Clara Mayr was born in Bolzano, South Tyrol, in 1993. She works across ceramics, wood sculpture and painting. Her life-size figures of animals from the Alpine landscape, such as Schof, Fock and Stoanbock, are made in dark glazed ceramic, while pieces like Pullover and Ohne Titel are carved from pine and chestnut.
Alongside her sculpture she makes site-specific and light installations. Unterwassertage was shown at Lightworks in the UK in 2022, at the Copenhagen Light Festival and at the Water Light Festival in Brixen. Mimimi Meme, made with Morin Pichler, was shown at the Franzensfeste fortress. She also takes commissions; Elefont is in a private collection.
